The Stampede is a strong supporter of the Little Boots Rodeo, with three current members who are past Little Boots Rodeo Princesses: Jessie Lynn Nichols ('99, '01, '04, '06), Shannon Mobley ('01), and Nicole Bulgrin ('08). We also have two members who have received LBR Reserve Championships: Whitney Fray ('04, '05), and Ashton Fray ('07, '08).

The Star Spangled Stampede equestrian drill team is an award-winning group of youth from Autauga County, Alabama. Not only has the drill team performed for Little Boots Rodeo for the past several years group, but the disciplined competitors have also exhibited their skills at the Southeastern Livestock Rodeo. The participants, ages 9 to 19, are members are of the Autauga County 4-H Horse Club, and have traveled throughout the Southeast to compete with similar teams.

The Star Spangled Stampede competed in Unadilla, Ga., March 2008, and received first, second, and third. In July 2008, it competed in the first-ever equestrian drill team competition at 4-H State in Montgomery, Ala., and received first in both classes offered. In October 2008, the team traveled to Chatsworth, Ga., and placed first, second and third in their classes. Most recently the Star Spangle Stamped competed in Cookeville, Tn., April 2009, and brought home two second places and three thirds.

Aside from the awards and exhibitions listed above, The Star Spangled Stampede has been honored by a Commendation from Governor Bob Riley of Alabama, a Resolution from the Alabama House of Representatives, a Certificate of Recognition from Alabama's Secretary of State for outstanding achievement, and the team is the recipient of the 2005 National Freedom's Foundation's Meritorious George Washington Honor Medal for excellence in the Special Events Category. The SSS served as Grand Marshall of the 2005 Prattville Christmas Parade.

The Star Spangled Stampede is coached by Sherri Nichols and Bonnie Shanholtzer, USEDA certified judges, coaches, and drill masters.
