  • Birth Certificate REQUIRED for 12, 13, and 14 year olds. No exceptions.
  • Arm bands will be given to those riding roughstock. No arm band, no participation.
  • Breakaway roping allows for one loop to be thrown. No re-tries.
  • To qualify for All-Around, contestants must participate in 5 of the 8 qualifying events.
  • A minimum of 2 points will be awarded for every All-Around Event participated in regardless of outcome.
  • A scratch from an All-Around Event receives zero points.
  • Calf roping is not an All-Around Event.
  • The Arena Race will determine the All-Around winner in the event of a tie.
  • The rodeo will begin at 10:00 am and the gate opens at 8:00 am.
  • No dogs allowed at the rodeo or on the Lazy W Arena premises on leashes in trucks or trailers – no exceptions. Leave dogs at home.
  • No barbeque grills or open fires at the Lazy W Arena.
  • Parent or Guardian must be on the premises of the Lazy W Arena at all times supervising my child(ren). This will be strictly enforced.
  • The management of the Little Boots Rodeo reserves the right to excuse persons for conduct distracting to the enjoyment by others in attendance.
  • All pictures (that may include my child) taken by the rodeo photographer will become the property of the Montgomery County Cattlemen and CattleWomen Associations/Little Boots Rodeo for advertisement, rodeo website or rodeo promotion.
  • If it rains on rodeo day, the rodeo will continue in the rain. Lightening will cause a delay and the rodeo will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.
  • No refunds will be made under any circumstances.
  • If a horse breaks a pattern and/or barrier, no second try will be given. The contestant will be awarded a score of “zero” and exit the arena immediately.
  • All participants must be able to perform the requirements of the event without adult assistance. No lead lines in any event including Grand Entry.
  • A parent/guardian may ride double with their child in the Grand Entry with the exception of the 2-5 and 6-8 princess contestants. These contestants will ride in a wagon.
  • Only rodeo personnel will be allowed in the arena with the participants. This includes parents and guardians. This is strictly enforced.
  • No horses will be allowed in the vendor area (mounted or unmounted).
  • Horses may not be left unattended unless securely tethered to a trailer.
  • Horses, riders, and contestants may not be in the alley leading into the arena unless they have been called for an up coming event.
  • The registration booth will close at 9:30 AM on rodeo day. No new registration or changes will be allowed after that time.
  • All contestants are responsible for reporting to the arena at the appointed time for the events they are registered in.
  • If a contestant fails to report at the appointed time, he/she will be give 3 calls by the announcer or arena director. After the 3rd call the contestant will be scratched from that event as a ‘no show”.
  • Each horse must have current negative Coggins Test presented at the gate and dated within one year of the rodeo day.
  • You are welcome to stay overnight at the Lazy W, but you MUST make prior arrangements with David or Lynn Woodruff at 334-265-9293.
  • If a contestant needs to stall overnight, it is the contestant’s responsibility to contact David or Lynne Woodruff at the Lazy W to make arrangements and pay for stalls at 334-265-9293.
  • No hanging on fence. No standing in front of the fence blocking the view of other spectators in the stands.
  • All registrants must have a signed Release Form before participating in any event.
  • All-Around Cowboy/girl will be awarded to the boy/girl who receives the most points in All-Around events. In the event of a tie for All-Around Cowboy/girl, the contestants with the highest points in the Arena Race will be declared the winner.
  • * These rules have been updated as of April 22, 2008. They are complete to the best of our knowledge. If you have questions or if any issue arises, the LBR Committee will make the final decision..

General Information:

Any contestant may place an ad in our program. The prices are: 1/4-page-$25 (business card size), half page-$35, and $50 for a full page. Pictures for the ad must be clear for easy scanning or on disk saved as a JPEG file. Please email the information or inquiries to: webmaster@littlebootsrodeo.net
