 Our 2009 Father of the Year is Dan Jones ... Raised by his grandparents on their farm in Pike Road, Ala., Dan had to get up early in the mornings to milk cows before school each day and help feed all the animals on the family farm, so he has a deep understanding and appreciation for hard work and the importance of agriculture.
While Dan was working the rodeo circuit as a bull rider, he met his wife Carole. Dan and Carole inherited his grandparents' farm and have been married for forty-six years. Together they have maintained the family farm and raised three children. Their two boys and daughter were active in 4-H groups growing up.
As a former Sheriff and Sheriff’s Deputy of Montgomery County, Dan has been involved in the Sherriff's Department for more than thirty years. He also has been an active member of the Montgomery County Cattlemen's Association the last decade. Dan has truly been a loving husband, father, and friend. A familiar face and helpful hand to so many in Montgomery County, the Montgomery County Cattlemen congratulate Dan Jones as our 2009 Father of the Year!
