Frequently Asked Questions ... |
| If you have questions about the Little Boots Rodeo, please email us at info@littlebootsrodeo.net. We attempt to personally respond to every email, but would also like to post some questions here in case others need to know, too! | |
Q: What are the time changes this year? A: Gates will now open at 7:30 am; Registration will close at 9:00 am; and Rodeo begins at 9:30 am. |
Q: How many All-Around Events are there for 2009? A: EIGHT (8), including breakaway roping |
Q: What is new in awarding points for All-Around events? A: Every participate will receive a minimum of 2 points for each All-Around event as long as they attempt the event (scratches will not receive any points). |
Q: Why are arm bands required for some of the rough stock events? A: Once the vest is on, arena workers cannot see the back number and this confirms who the participant is. |
Q: Do I have to enter all events marked "All Around" to be eligible for that award? A: NO. But each contestant MUST enter 5 of the 8 All-Around Events to be eligible in their age-appropriate events. Example: an 11 year old competing for All Around can enter the Calf Riding instead of the Bull Riding, but doesn't have to compete in the Calf Scramble since it is not an All-Around event. |
Q: What is the tie-breaker event for the All-Around awards? A: Arena Race is now the tie-breaker for the All-Around award(s) for any category since more people compete in this event than in Pole Bending. |
Q: Why is there a $10 late fee on the date of the rodeo for All-Around Events? A: This is to encourage participants to pre-register so that the rodeo committee can have the final list for each event ready and not delay the start of the rodeo. |
Q: Is there an age limit for bull riding? A: No, bull riding is open to all ages, but LBR recommends that children be at least 9 years old since these are 1000 lb steers. |
Q: Is the calf roping tie down or breakaway? A: Three calves are turned loose in the arena with the contestants. Each constestant must have his/her own rope and gloves. The first contestant to rope a calf and secure it to the outside arena fence is the winner. |
Q: Do I have to send in separate payments for Queen/Princess contest and rodeo registration? A: Yes, please send one check with your rodeo event registration to the address in Grady, Ala. and
another for the queen/princess pageant to the address in Orrville, Ala. |
Q: Since my daughter is registered for the rodeo events and the Queen/Princess contests, can I send in ONE release form? A: No, even if a girl
is registered in events she has to have another release form for the pageant. |
Q: Who signs the form(s) if a relative/guardian will be with the child during the rodeo and not the parent? A: The parent should sign the pre-registration form even if a relative/guardian will be attending the rodeo with the child |
